What is Google Classroom?
|
Google Classroom is basically our online classroom, and as such, it will be very much like our regular classroom -- that is, a "hub" or central gathering-place where you go to do the following:

How Do I Log In to Google Classroom?
|
Here's a helpful two-minute video. YOU WILL NEED TO USE YOUR SCHOOL GMAIL ADDRESS to sign in to Google Classroom. Without using the school email address, you'll just find it impossible to sign in. Make life easy on yourself. Use the school email for all school-related things, and you will be a happier person.

Your Google classroom codes are (not shockingly) the codes you use to sign in to Google Classroom. Think of them as the secret classroom password. If you are absolutely, positively unable to get in to GC, contact me at [email protected] for information or help.
Important Disclaimer: After about the first week or so of class, I will increasingly expect you to ask other people or try other options BEFORE you come to me. I am absolutely there for you -- but not as the first step. Self-reliance in high school (especially for online learning) is key. For future reference, try these options first:

What is the difference between "Stream" and "Classwork"?
|
Think of the classroom stream like the daily news. It's there to give announcements, important attachments like a file or a YouTube video, and provide up-to-date information.
For example, I might say in the Stream, "Hey, folks, we were going to have a quiz today on Act IV, but instead, we'll need to finish up with the rough draft and do the quiz next time." Students also have the opportunity to comment or add questions to the Stream, For example, you might ask the question, "Is the quiz still going to be about Act IV only, or will there be Act V material too?" |
