Option One: Memorization (Live)
Credit: 20 points in the assessment category
Task
Memorize any Shakespearean speech or poem of 14 consecutive lines (minimum)
What You Have to Do
Memorize your piece
Email me to come in after school for about 10 minutes
Write out your poem/speech from memory
Number of times you can do this: Twice
Option Two: Mono or Duo Scene from Macbeth (Live)
Credit: Minimum of 30 and up to 50 points in the assessment category. Better performance = more points.
Task
Memorize any speech from Macbeth lasting a minimum of 2 minutes (mono only) and a maximum of 5 minutes. You can have a mono (one-person) or duo (two-person) scene.
What You Have to Do
Memorize your piece
Email me to come in after school for about 10 minutes and perform your speech from memory
Perform your speech from memory, genuinely acting it out. Vocal intonation, sincerity or believability, correct pronunciation/rate, and other factors will affect your point value.
Props are not necessary, and faux-British accents are not to be endured.
Number of times you can do this: Once
Option Three: Trio or Ensemble Scene from Macbeth (Live)
Credit: Minimum of 30 and up to 50 points in the assessment category. Better performance = more points.
Task
Memorize any speech from Macbeth lasting a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. You can have trio (3-person) or ensemble (more than three-person) scene.
What You Have to Do

Email me to come in after school for about 10 minutes and perform your speech from memory

Option Four: The Magic of Video
Credit: Minimum of 20 and up to 70 points in the assessment category. Better performance = more points.
Task
Make a short video of yourself and up to four people, all of whom have equal or comparable screen time, performing a scene from Macbeth.
The video should be done as if you were making a short film.
Be creative. Black and white? Cool. Music used to make a meaningful commentary? Awesome. On-location shooting? Great.
Speeches should be acted out and memorized.
What You Have to Do
Memorize your piece
Videotape and edit your speech. See if you can get credit for this in video production, if you're taking video production.
